Have you dreamed of completing your college degree but just don’t know how to get started? Perhaps you’ve applied to the university for admission and want to get a head start on your classes while you wait for formal notification of acceptance. Or, you may just want to sample a new subject area or update your current degree. Whatever your reason, Open University offers you the opportunity to take regular academic courses offered at Cal Poly Pomona without formal admission.
Open University courses are offered in 10-week quarters beginning in January (Winter), March (Spring), June (Summer) and September (Fall) each year. Two special five-week sessions are also offered during the Summer Quarter (June).
Students need an Open University petition, the instructor's permission and proof that all prerequisites have been met to enroll in most classes. Instructors grant enrollments on space-availability after all regularly enrolled students have been admitted.
