TitleStrategies for Planning & Implementing Successful Meetings & Events
The course will include three modules as described below.
Event Management and Career Success
Did you know that the Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks meeting and event planning in the top tier of “The Best Jobs of 2012” and projects employment to grow 43% between 2010 and 2020? This course will provide you with an in-depth look at the industry and the current outlook for this exciting and multi-faceted field. You will discover the various diverse components and opportunities within the profession, learn industry terminology and receive invaluable industry resources. Real-life scenarios, advice from industry experts, and interactive activities have been designed to enhance your professional development.
Event Strategies and Program Design
Learn strategic event management concepts and gain practical knowledge to plan meetings and events like a pro. Identify key elements required to plan a successful program. Visualize the flow of an event to ensure that all aspects of the program are properly organized. Develop a group profile, objectives, and measurable outcomes to evaluate the success of your event. Receive planning tools you can put to use immediately in planning and designing your program.
Event Operations and Promotion
This module deals in detail with the operational and logistical needs of meetings and events, associated risk management concerns, as well as marketing strategies that successfully promote your events. Determine the essentials for managing registration and guest services, including transportation and housing. Identify potential risks associated with your event and develop appropriate contingency plans. Develop an Event Specifications Guide, operations plans, and other communications that convey the essential, detailed elements of your program. Discover how to reach relevant audiences and create excitement for your upcoming event.
