| Description |
This course introduces GIS data development and analysis for the solving of urban problems in a lab format. Through hands-on and exercises students will learn database development, integration of web-based data sources, data preparation and conversion, management of spatial data, and integration of GIS with CAD and Image Processing software. By the end of the course students will be able to develop, manage, and analyze spatial data to support preliminary decision making and urban policy implementation. Basic knowledge of cartographic principles is assumed.
