You’ll learn how to use your camera in manual mode and completely set your artistic vision free. This course will examine why beautiful landscape photographs look well, beautiful and what it takes to make compelling portraits. We’ll also cover lens choice, ways to showcase your work, digital darkrooms, shooting in the dark and shooting color with black and white prints in mind.
Required supplies:
* Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera body
* Lens that mounts on your DSLR camera body
* Tripod (any, as long as it holds your camera steady)
* Compact Flash or Secure Digital memory card
* Memory Card Reader
* PC or MAC with CD and/or DVD burner. See minimum system requirements at: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/systemreqs/
* Proper storage media
* High speed internet access
* Adobe Lightroom 2 (sold at the campus bookstore for $99 with proof of paid enrollment confirmation letter)
Class will be held once a week for ten weeks. Each class is three hours long and will produce at least three hours of homework (shooting, editing, and watching online training videos). Some assignments require local travel. No images produced before this course will be accepted. Please read your camera’s instruction manual twice before our second class meeting.
